Children can have a school meal or bring a packed lunch of their own

School Meals

School meals are cooked on site by our caterers Aspens. Hot and cold school meals, with a vegetarian option are available. They also cater for all allergies and intolerances.


Paying for school meals 

Meals are to be booked online using ParentPay logins and children will be asked during registration to confirm whether they are having a school meal or packed lunch.

Free school meals

To receive free school meals, families need to receive the following for their child to be eligible for free school meals: income support, job seekers allowance, child tax credit, or be asylum seekers or refugees. For more information, please contact the school office. All applications are treated in the strictest of confidence.


Dinner money

All lunches must be ordered and paid for using ParentPay. If your child is absent you must log on and cancel the lunch before 8.30am that morning, otherwise the booking will stand. Unfortunately, school lunches cannot be refunded if an ordered meal is missed through illness and notification is not received before 8.30am.



Criteria For Free School Meals


You are eligible if you are in receipt of the following:

  • Income Support;
  • Income Based Job Seekers Allowance;
  • Income Related Employment and Support Allowance;
  • Child Tax Credit, as long as you do not get Working Tax Credit and whose annual income (as assessed by HM Revenue & Customs) does not exceed £16,190;
  • Support under part VI of the Immigration & Asylum Act 1999;
  • Guarantee element of State Pension Credit;
  • Universal Credit (with an annual take home pay of no more than £7,400, as assessed by earnings from up to three of your most recent assessment periods).


All pupils in Reception, year 1 and year 2 are entitled to a free school meal under the government’s Universal Infant Free School Meal scheme.
